Pleasantly scented with apple-blossom fragrance, this grease lubricates and protects instrument cork, keeping it supple and perfectly airtight. Vandoren cork grease has long been a favorite among students and professionals.

I understand about the other reveiwer means aboout the viscosity of the grease, however at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter (in my opion) since what it is there for is to help the peices slide together and this does the job. Sure it may not be the high end grease, but it does the job just fine.

![]() Cork grease, lightly scented (cherry?),

This is pretty good grease, but like all cork grease it has a range of temperatures where it is good, and outside that range it is just plain stupid. Also, this is lightly scented so it doesn’t have that typical grease odor. I think it’s sort of cherry scented but it’s very light so it’s hard to really pinpoint it.
It’s a typical chapstick-style tube. Twist the bottom to raise the grease out the top. Best for temperatures ABOVE 40 and BELOW 80. If you get too far above 80, it starts to soften and below 45 it starts to harden. It actually melts at just over 105 degrees (F) so you can still use it up to about 90 but STORE it between 45 and 80 degrees. Below 45, it starts to harden. You can still use it down to about 35, but you’ll have to spread it with your finger to melt it enough for it to actually give you uniform coverage on the cork. This is the standard range of operating temperatures for pretty much every cork grease on the market. So, this stuff is not so good for an outdoor Christmas concert in Vermont, nor a 4th of July or Labor Day concert in Texas. But if you can keep it between 40 and 90 degrees when you apply it and play with it, and store it between 45 and 80 degrees, then it should behave the way you’d expect cork grease to behave. And the tube is chapstick-sized so it has 4.25g (0.15oz) of grease. 0

My son plays the clarinet and he bought this cork grease at a local music store and he absolutely loves it. He says that it is not to soft and it is applied with ease. I would recommend this for any clarinet player, pro or beginner.
