Throughout history lutes have typically had gut strings. Lute strings today, however, are nylon made with high precision instruments. The rectified nylon strings in the Roosebeck set are known for their warmer tone and lightly textured feel. The silverplated copper wound nylon bass strings also produce a very warm, classical tone. We recommend the traditional Renaissance tuning for this set. I have put these strings on an EMS lute, and I found that the tone improved. They suit each other. The tone is rather soft volumious and warm. Perhaps not the mostly desired tone for a high quality lute, but for an instrument with limited potential it is absolutely fine!
I recieved the strings very fast indeed, and the description was very exact. They are very cheap and are great value for money. 0

Wonderful tone and excellent play-ability! Great new warmth to a classic instrument that few get to hear so getting the sound right the first time is critical.
