Consists of 8 notes: C’ to C”. The Diatonic Set allows more songs to be played and has been preferred over the pentatonic scale by most music educators and people more familiar with music. Our most popular set.

Boomwhackers are a great product enjoyed by music teachers and their students. They work best under supervised use by a music teacher rather than just giving them to two- and three-year-olds to be randomly whacking away. Also, though they’re pretty durable, they are not meant to be in a contest to see who can whack them the hardest. As they get a bit flattened with use, they will work better if you round them out again.
In a music class of grade school children, simple melodies can be taught, but an easier use, and best for young children, is to have a group whack out simple chords while everyone sings a simple song. Can be used with simple I, IV, and V chords. They become even more useful if you purchase the set of chromatic notes, so you can do some tunes in other keys or that require a different part of the scale for the melody. Add a second set, buy and insert the “octavators” (small inserts in one end), and they’ll sound one octave lower. This gives you a second octave with which to work. 0

Okay, first of all, I have to qualify my 5 star review. I gave Boomwhackers 5 stars for the idea, the concept of them, the awesome creativity behind these amazing things. On the other hand, if I were to rate the actual PRODUCT, Boomwhackers, I would give them a three because I feel they are far too expensive. PULLLLEEEAAASE, like another reviewer said, MAKE YOUR OWN. You can do a Google search and find many formulas for making them easily and for much less $$$$.
The meat and potatoes: These are some of the coolest rhythmic inventions I have ever seen. We had someone bring a set of the store bought ones to our drum circle a while back – AND BOY DID WE HAVE FUN!!!! Ever since that day, in the back of my mind I have been wanting to get some, but they are just so expensive!!!! I have been bringing them to the drum circle and we LOVE going nuts with these crazy things. They are NOT only for kids. I am going to a Labor Day party today and am gonna bring them with me. I will easily be the hit of the party by bringing them! 0

We are a very musical family, and these looked really neat online. We ordered them as a gift for our children a while back, and while we were all happy with the quality and basic idea, the sound was too muffled, or quiet. We ‘whacked’ them on anything and everything we could find, but they were never satisfying to any of us. I suppose we were expecting a much fuller sound. They went to the Goodwill.
