NOVICA, in association with National Geographic, searches the world to work directly with the finest artisan designers. An instrument dating back to the Inca Empire, this panpipe features eleven reed tubes of graduated length are bound by colorful textiles. Known as a zampoña, this traditional Andean panpipe is handcrafted by Benito Tito. Selecting the reeds according to size, Tito sands them and aligns them with precision. They are held in place with nylon monofilament and covered with synthetic fabric. A matching fabric case is included; it emulates pre-Hispanic textiles.
Benito Tito says,
“Aiding in the preservation of our musical heritage is my family’s legacy. We have carefully crafted traditional instruments for generations.”

While still mastering the technique of the panpipes, I am having fun with them. I am a long way away from sounding like one of those neat little guys in the white linen outfits and the big black hats, but I do aspire to make the same kind of music soon. There was a momentary glitch when the pipes arrived without their red cloth holder, but after contacting the seller, this was rectified in very short order with a very polite response. I would certainly deal with these folks again. The service was prompt and the pipes arrived well-packaged.

can’t wait to improve on this thing. sounds awesome! very light-weight, but good quality 🙂 everything i’d expect for a traditional wood-wind instrument. it’s tuned perfectly

I bought this thinking it would at least sort of work, it arrived in a plastic seal bag(no box) with a small layer of bubble wrap around it, half the pipes were crushed and broken entirely, the ones that weren’t were so poorly made that absolutely no one could even get a sound out of it. better luck getting a couple glass bottles of different sizes because that would have more volume than this pile of garbage. Worse purchase ever.
