The ProMark S22 cymbal rattler is the perfect alternative to putting permanent rivets in your favorite cymbal. Achieve the same classic sizzle sound without the hastle of drilling holes and inserting rivets. The S22 features smaller metal beads for more of a classic jazz sizzle. The cymbal rattle comes with a cymbal felt and fits conveniently on the cymbal post above the bell of the cymbal.

I got this a while back from Amazon, again at a price that blew me away and I couldn’t be happier with it. Its a new experience for me to play a Sizzle on my 22″ Ride but it works perfectly. Pro-Mark make great products and this is a great example. Simple yet very effective. Amazon had it to me in record time too. Im very pleased with this item!

It’s not bad for what it is, and it’s easy to get on and off, but not really the same sound.

![]() Multiple uses, and perfect for certain roms, By

I’ll get the multiple uses claim I made in the title out of the way first. This is a handy ‘remedy’ for dead rooms that kill your cymbal sound. This will take the darkest sounding cymbal in the deadest room and give it enough sustain to bring it back to life.
The second use is to save on the cost of a sizzle cymbal if you are on a budget and the music you play normally does not require one. Use number three is to test out cymbals that you are considering drilling for rivets. Not all cymbals sound good as sizzles, and this will let you hear an approximation of how your cymbal will sound after you’ve taken a drill to it. Of course, the operative word is ‘approximation’ because you are not going to hear how a six rivet pattern will differ from a three rivet cluster – you will just hear how your ride cymbal will sound with more sustain added. My only complaint – and it’s a small one – is this has a top felt that is part of the mounting mechanism. I normally do not use a top felt because I want maximum resonance from my cymbals and this one does kill it a little. Bottom line is if you fit any or all of the scenarios I mentioned this will be come a valued tool in your sound palette. I do not use mine often, but when I do it’s a godsend. 0 |
