The fife worked once I corrected a BIG assembly mistake – the cork had been inserted into the wrong end! I took a 1/4" wooden dowel and pushed the cork down to the correct end, then used the dowel to further tune it to my electronic piano. The fife plays two octaves in the key of D-major, or a blues scale in E.
