These NINO instruments have a very cutting “ping” sound. The free floating bars create a very long sustain with a pleasant tone, longer than the average chime or bell set. The sound effect these bars create is useful for creating accents in a group setting where other instruments are being played, and they are fun to play on their own! Teachers will also find these instruments useful by playing them to get classroom attention. NINO offers three different pitched energy chimes, as well as a model with three bars. NINO Percussion offers an outstanding collection of musical instruments designed specifically for children. Whether played alone or with a group, the performance and sound quality of NINO Percussion instruments make them the ideal choice for young musicians and those who teach them.

Clear, loud tone with long sustain. I would rate it a 5, but I’m no expert; there may be better chimes, but this is perfect for me.

I love my energy chime. They are so hard to find in Australia. It makes such a beautiful, clear sound. Love it!

Other colleagues of mine have these chimes in their classrooms. I’ve been wanting to get one and I found this one which is very affordable. I do wish I had purchased the multi-chimes rather than the single one, though. It sounds nice but now I realize I would have liked a few sounds instead of just the one.
