The “new” horn I ordered was defective. The valves were misaligned and no air could enter through the first and only partial air through the second. I returned the instrument and was told the shipping cost could not be reimbursed and could only be taken as a credit for a future purchase. I rate the product as “0” stars and the Amazon policy and customer support as “1” star.

Please save yourself the money and disappointment and avoid this at all cost. Advice: pick one out and then ASK YOUR TEACHER for an opinion about the specific instrument (not just the ‘brand’) BEFORE YOU BUY. Or call a music repair shop and ask their opinion. I wish I had.We had no issues for about 90 days. Then my son started having trouble with the valves. Turns out spare parts are very difficult to obtain for this instrument because it is made overseas (I was told it is not the same model you would buy in the US). My son can still get by with it for home practice but that’s about it.(He plays the sousaphone and tuba which have similar fingerings but are much heftier in both weight and cost than the baritone!) I will say that it shipped on time and that the case is nice and has held up (ha ha).
PS I think your best bet is to rent one but it is very difficult to rent baritones and impossible for tuba/sousa

My grandson played it for a few weks in music school and the valves leaked air and it won’t play.
