I have been playing flute for five years, and piccolo on and off for about three. Being a high school student, I’ve been forced to use only the terrible piccolos provided to me by the school, and I finally decided to get my own.
This is not the most amazing piccolo in the world. If you want an exceptional one for concert band/symphony playing- go buy a wood piccolo. For marching band, it is very good (if it’s for marching band, I suggest buying the lacquer, because it is probably best in weather conditions. But talk to your band director first to see if he/she wants all the piccolos to be silver to match the flutes).
It is satisfactory for beginners and intermediates. For the price especially, it is good for any young musician to experiment on before deciding to go buy a more expensive instrument. The sound is good, as long as the instrumentalist knows how to play properly.
The piccolo itself looks very nice. It has an easy grip and the keys don’t stick like on other piccolos I’ve played.

Complaints: The cleaning cloth doesn’t fit in the piccolo, so I can’t clean the inside (it might be wise to purchase another cloth just for the inside), but it is good for basic cleaning.
The cork isn’t set quite right, but it’s easy to adjust other ways for tuning purposes. I haven’t taken the piccolo to be regulated yet, so I don’t know if this is fixable, but it’s minor.
The case feels durable but the clasps are a little annoying to open. I just bought a new case.
Edit: Pointed out to me by another musician- the finger rest is very high up, so it really doesn’t help the grip of the piccolo and it’s actually rather annoying, but it’s tolerable.

Overall: Good for beginners and intermediate players. There are a few minor issues with the piccolo but nothing that really affects performance. But considering the price and the ease with which you can fix most problems, it’s probably worth it.

I bought this product in the silver plated version for my daughter’s birthday, I ended up changing the order to black laquered before it shipped which the company was very willing to do(her school colors are black and gold). She has been playing flute for about a year and a half now and this piccolo has been easy for her to learn the smaller keys. She said, “it looks like a toy!” She was happy when it arrived and played it right away. It sounds flawless! Her flute skills aren’t expert, but this piccolo sounds just as great as her flute. The product is nice, sturdy, and well made! 5 Stars easy! My daughter is actually the one that told me what to write because she thought she could give better details, I just changed the point of view.

I purchased the Mendini piccolo for my daughter who has been playing the flute for five years and the piccolo for one year. The piccolo arrived as promised in great condition. My daughter is very happy with the quality of her new piccolo and it sounds beautiful!
