Bad, bad, bad Horn- Advice from a Professional Horn Player and Teacher,
This review is from: Mendini MFH-30 Intermediate Key of F/Bb Double French Horn with Solid Rotors String Lever Action (Electronics)
As a professional horn player and teacher, DO NOT BUY THIS INSTRUMENT. There are a handful of worthy makers of student model French Horns and this certainly is not one of them. These instruments are cheaply made, have several problems, and do not last long. If you hope to play in your school’s band or orchestra you will find yourself not being able to play in tune or match the other students. This is a bad, bad, bad make of horn and it is a shame students are being tricked into buying them because of the low price. Again, DO NOT BUY THIS INSTRUMENT.

Good for a toy. Not allowed in school band. Remember! a decent student model going to cost you 00 and that is still over seas made.

Grandaughter started band in the second semester last year. A late start didn’t hinder to much. She’s second seat now. This horn may not be the best but she makes it sound good. It had some poor reviews BUT our band director recommended it.
