It turned out to be a great alternative to renting alto sax for my son’s school band. He claims that it’s easier to play than the much more expensive … (name doesn’t matter), and I can attest that he started to sound better. It is not a better instument, but has a great benefits/price ratio.
If you want to improve your purchase fast – get new mouth piece and a strap. 0

This is an excellent instrument for anyone learning to play, or who already does play the saxophone. A student of mine used one for quite a while and I was always impressed by its rich timbre. If I had another student looking for an instrument I would gladly recommend this one; especially for the price. Having a good instrument is essential to mastering it both for the confidence of the learner and the pleasure of the listener and this instrument excels at both.

The saxophone came with quick shipping and the whole thing was very nice. Everything was wrapped nicely in a plastic or cloth bag. It played nicely, just that the reed that came with it was broken. The mouthpiece was a little leaky so I got a Selmer G-Tone mouthpiece and it was all fine. The ligature was very nice looking, too. The neckstrap was twisted and cut into my neck, but I got used to the twistedness and I put the polishing on it and it was fine. Overall, it was a very nice saxophone and I would definitely purchace it a second time if this one broke down. 🙂
