The Latin Percussion LP188 Foot Tambourine is an ideal accompaniment for Cajon players or guitarists. You can use the tambourine sound as a pattern, pulse, or backbeat to any song that needs a little extra flavor. Simply slip the durable elastic band on your shoe, and the tambourine is secured to your foot. Its ABS plastic body is specially contoured so that it’s comfortable to wear during performances. The four pairs of nickel-plated jingles are held in place by a patented jingle pinning system.

I can’t think of a reason to give this anything less than 5 starts. It’s made durably and fits comfortably and snug with a shoe in. (Don’t recommend using barefooted or with flip flops) Although there are only 4 sets of jingles, they are louder than I expected and provide a good percussive back beat. It will be up to the musician to figure out how to control the volume. I find a light tap works for softer songs and a full stomp works on more aggressive tunes. I don’t preform live so I can’t say how this would work in a stage setting. For the money is worth giving a try in my opinion.

![]() Solid build, big sound,

I play in an all acoustic band, using my cajon and djembe. This was a welcome addition to my very minimal set up. I originally had the Meinl brand but was disappointed the jingles would fall out, due to the poor construction by Meinl where the pin would "slip" allowing jingles to fly.
This LP brand has a couple of things I particularly like about it. It is a snug fit on my foot with shoe, and it just feels like it is a solidly built accessory. I prefer the plastic over Meinl’s wood construction as the Meinl one cracked in a couple spots after some use. The LP also has a bigger sound compared to the Meinl. It mimics a full size tambourine MUCH better than the other, smaller Meinl brand foot tambourine. The strap feels secure, but I have not had it long, but I am confident that it will hold up over time. 0

![]() SO FUN!, By

Man, wish I would have gotten one of these a long time ago, it’s made practicing a lot more fun, plus it forces me to keep better rhythm. This thing is very loud, I taped two of the four cymbal-pairs, and now it sounds perfect. I use a rubber band and egg-shaker for my left foot, and the combination of the shaker, tambourine, vocals & harmonica is disarmingly full-sounding.
