The PA50 PA System from Kustom combines quality performance and convenient features, all in a highly portable package. Youll find that the PA50 works well in a variety of environments, amplifying vocals, instruments, keyboards, drum machines, audio devices, and more. The two 4.5″ speakers and high-frequency driver provide just the right combination of high and midrange sounds. This balance ensures your vocals cut through the mix while minimizing harsh and unwanted frequencies. The PA50 Construction is based on the same tried-and-true techniques as the rest of our speaker line. This includes a heavy-duty steel grill and rigid corners. This model also utilizes a high-frequency driver for crisp, accurate reproduction of treble frequency and articulate speech. For the soloist or acoustic duo, the PA50 works well when positioned on a standard speaker stand. As your following grows, so does your sound system; multiple units can be connected to increase the sound coverage in your venue of choice.

This review is from: Kustom PA50 Personal PA System
This is scalable because it can be almost infinitely expanded by adding and daisy chaining additional units. For a solo act or duo this is adequate for venue with 25 to 50 (or more) patron, depending on ambient crowd noise. For larger venues just add more units.
A key feature is it’s size. It’s compact and light at just under fifteen pounds. It’s also quite versatile. First, you have two 1/4″ inputs for high impedance instruments and two XLR inputs below them for line-level microphones. These are not either/or. You can actually use all four simultaneously. You can also connect an MP3 player for accompaniment to the 1/8″ jack on the back (again, simultaneously with the other jacks.) Do note that the XLR inputs provide phantom power, which is a big plus if you are using condenser mics, but can be a problem if you are using mic pre-amps that provide their own phantom power, but will fry if it’s applied to them in the signal path. Carefully check the specs of any device other than a mic that you plan to plug into those inputs. There is a dedicated dedicated port that was designed to work with any sub, but is specifically designed to work with the PowerWerks Single 12 inch Powered Sub PW112S. That model sub is a perfect match and gives this rig a big sound. For the record my set-up at the time of this review consists of four of these units and the sub. I use one for a monitor and the rest to distribute sound so I can fill a large room without blasting the people nearest the stage while allowing folks in the back to clearly hear every note. 0

![]() Extremely practical for small venues, By
This review is from: Kustom PA50 Personal PA System
I was giving a talk at a bookstore and didn’t know how many to expect. I was torn as to whether or not to bring my big PA system. If a lot of people came, it would have been really good to have. If not I’d be lugging five separate pieces including the stands and would look a bit foolish. Saw this and knew it was perfect for occasions like this. It is the same brand as my 10″ speakers so I was pretty confident it would be good quality. It is excellent quality both in build and tone. You can get a surprising amount of sound out of it. Now I’m thinking of getting another and selling my big old system. The main drawback with two of these would be that you would have to get up to adjust the controls. With a separate powered mixer you can have it next to you and control everything without getting up. Still it’s really cool the way you can hook two of these together and have six channels playing through both speakers. You do have to adjust the master volume on each separately though for balance. I’m playing a CD through it ring now. I compared it to the sound of my Sony boom box and it is light years better for fidelity. Surprising amount of base for two 4.5″ speaks. By the way 4.5″ is the outside frame measurement. The actual moving cone is about 3 5/8″. Still it sounds great. The tweeter is a horn type. The unit is quite heavy but that means quality to me. When I got it there was a SLIGHT deformation in the speaker grill. I easily removed it and formed it properly. There is a 1 3/8 socket in the bottom for a speaker stand. There is a crossover for a powered sub woofer which is activated when you plug one in. Kustom makes one that doubles as a speaker stand, but it is expensive. I already have a stand an excellent Yamaha sub. You wouldn’t really need a sub in most situations except maybe for a dance. I’m totally thrilled with this PA because it is high quality and will be so handy for situation where I don’t want to lug my large system. I figure this will be the one I use for most events: workshops, seminars, and classes.

![]() Good Deal For the Money, By
Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: Kustom PA50 Personal PA System
For the money, this was an excellent purchase. Works great, but keep in mind that if you’re expecting studio sound to come out of it, you picked the wrong product. This is designed for simple amplification. I use it in a nursing home for karaoke. I plug in my laptop and also a wireless mic system and go to town! The bass and treble controls kinda help the tinny sound, but for simple amplification, it will do a nice big room without problems. As a starter system that didn’t cost hundreds of dollars, I’m pretty happy with it.
