The Jumbie Jam is a fantastic instrument for music education. It is an easy and effective way to get students started immediately. Schools across the globe are now utilizing the Jumbie Jam as a primary instrument in their music classes and programs.
Students are not overwhelmed or intimidated by the Jumbie Jam, ensuring an effective and immediate learning experience. The Jumbie Jam is smaller than a full-sized Steel Drum, with only 8 notes (which are labeled) as opposed to the complex and expensive 32- note full-sized drum. I bought this as a gift for my husband and he loves it. I was concerned at first when I opened the box that it was for children only because the images on the package are childlike but the height is adjustable and its great for an adult just learning to play. The keys are labeled and the sound is great. Definitely worth it.

Product description is represented well. Item price is in-line with materials used and accessories included. Before shipping off to Oregon as a Christmas gift, our “I’m too sexy for my shirt” teenage son enjoyed long hours of play-by-ear self-expression which sounded great and brought us smiles. The tone is clear and the musical scale produced is darn close-(will improve with proper mallet striking technique). Fun instrument. Excellent Seller!!

I am not very musically inclined, but always wanted to be. I thought this would be a fun thing to tinker with and get rid of stress. So far, I’ve taught myself 3 songs and enjoy it very much. So do my dogs…they always come and sit by me when I play it. I believe it is perfectly in tune and sounds like the real deal, but I think true steel drum players use two of them at once. I am not so talented! This is great for kids, but I am 53 years old and get quite a kick out of playing it too!
