Finish color and decoration style may vary from photo. The Harmoniums are not meant to be played in concert like a mini organ. The reeds in the harmonium are tuned to sound well together, not necessarily with other instruments.This is instrument was introduced to India by the British. It has been embraced and is now a truly Indian instrument used as accompaniment in devotional songs. As such they are not in concert pitch and are not meat to be. As with many Indian instruments the key for the music is selected to best suite the vocals, or to set a mood. Traditionally, Harmoniums are usually higher pitched if compared to the Western Scale. Harmonium tuning does not reflect the Western Scale and is not meant to.DISCLAIMER: Shellac is very impressionable, no pun intended. During the long transportation from India the shellac finish becomes marred by the packing materials. These impressions are superficial and cosmetic. Impressions on the finish do not affect the playability or sound. Therefore we do not consider such impressions as blemishes or defects.

We had chosen this model @ the discounted price and found the harmonium to be well worth the investment, however,after spending a day with the instrument our wish to upgrade was expressed to the very competent person who helped us originally. A triple reed harmonium of teakwood was offered at a very reasonable price and we agreed to purchase the upgrade and volunteered to pay the cost of shipping the unit on hand. Paying shipping was not necessary as buyRaagini would have gladly forwarded a shipping label to simplify matters but we insisted on getting it off to the State side address sooner rather than later and buyRaagini offered to discount the new purchase, very friendly and accommodating in regard to all aspects of details and service. Tracking the delivery was breathtaking, the first unit arrived in 4 days, New Delhi to France then Germany, on to Tennessee and wow now @ our door, the next parcel arrived along the same route and literally took 2 1/2 days, the estimated time of arrival was the following Monday , it was in Albuquerque and we were thrilled to think it would arrive the first of the week thinking this was the usual pace. That afternoon the FedEx man arrived @ our door, the same fellow who made the previous delivery, our heads spun!
