I was kind of skeptical about buying this guitar since it has no reviews and since it’s a 0 guitar going for , but I decided to buy it; and I’m so glad I did! The guitar itself is beautiful and I love that it’s so thin; it makes it much easier for me to play since I’m a beginner. Once I tuned it, it sounded very pretty and it plays beautifully:)The guitar came with a ton of guitar picks, a pitch pipe, a cord for plugging the guitar into an amp, and a gig bag. The gig bag is sort of crappy, but it was free so I wasn’t expecting an amazing gig bag.
Update: After playing this guitar for about 5 months, I can honestly say that I love it more now than I did the day I got it! It stays in tune extremely well, and I haven’t had to make any adjustments to it:)( I bought another guitar around the same time that I purchased this one. The nut on the other one was really messed up so I had to have it fixed and I’ve had to adjust the truss rod like 10 times:P)Anyways, I still think this is a great guitar and I’d recommend it to anyone! 0

I bought this "cheap" guitar to take camping with me so I could leave my expensive Martins, Taylors, and Gibsons safely at home. I had no real expectations that it would look so good, play so easily, and sound so great….both acoustically and when plugged in. I was so happy with it that I did a video review of it which I posted to YouTube. You can find it by searching for Bones Bach and going to my channel if you care to watch it. I really like the thinline body style with cutaway. It even came with a pretty decent gig bag, an instrument cable for plugging in, an allen wrench for making neck adjustments, and a couple of flat picks. Right out of the box the string action was spot on and I have no intonation problems up and down the neck. A price of only .97 plus for shipping still seems almost impossible to me for a brand new instrument of this quality. One other comment: Tuning tends to go flat when sitting dormant overnight…but this happens often with much more expensive instruments as well. Just tune it up before you start playing and it will stay in tune extremely well for as long as you care to play.

Just to qualify, I have played guitar for almost 40 years and am an advanced player. I have lots of expensive guitars and, in fact, that’s the very reason I bought this – it was inexpensive and something I could take on the go without having to worry about it being broken, stolen, scratched, or whatever. Plus, it had a pickup. All the reviews seemed fairly positive and I knew I could make adjustments, even major ones if necessary, as I have done much guitar repair in the past. So I got it while it was on sale.
I received it today in good condition and was very impressed with the quality and workmanship. I tuned it up and played right away. The playability is excellent. It’s good for any price, but it’s ESPECIALLY good for the price paid. No adjustments are really necessary (although I may lower the saddle just a bit to suit my style.) The intonation is excellent (very important for beginning guitar players learning.) The tuners are very smooth. The neck feels substantial but not too fat.Probably strong, which will make it durable and lasting. The pickup works well enough ( I haven’t done any recording yet with it, but I probably will.) Man, what I wouldn’t have done to have a guitar like this when I was learning! "Beginning" guitars were generally horrible back then, but this one is quite the opposite. No, it isn’t fancy wood, but it’s wood, and the thing plays very nicely. At the sale price (79.00 for me) I recommend this purchase for any beginner (or someone like me who wants a "camping" guitar. I can’t even believe the price for what it is. At retail (~300.00,) it would be "OK," but there may be some other beginning guitars that may have a richer sound (believe me, I have NO complaints about this instrument – I’m just trying to make a complete review as I see it.) But for the -150.00 range, this simply can’t be beat. It’s a steal. It came with a gig bag, a few picks, a 1/4" cable, and a neck adjustment tool (which I did not need as of yet.) Keep in mind, guitars are wood and some MAY need an adjustment. That’s normal. I am very pleased. 0 |
