I’ve been playing bass guitar a long time but was never into effects. However I was intriqued by this one. The dual outputs were a plus as I use a main amp “straight” combined with a smaller amp I use for some added sound shaping and presence.
While I do think that the “Wah” title is a bit misleading, this thing can get so many nice/fun envelope and synth effects it doesn’t matter. Plenty of control over intensity, it can be used nicely without going overboard but you can get pretty silly too if you want. You just have to get used to the control settings. For the money the thing gets a lot of tones but probably most importantly nails the classic bass synth and filter sounds well, plus it’s built incredibly solidly. It’s like a little green brick. I can’t even find any flaws in the finish. Only drawback is battery life is indeed short and despite the nice pin device for changes, you’ll need to spring for a power supply. That and the “wah” title are what kept me from giving the 5th star. Get it and have fun! 0

I have only been playing bass for about 3-months. I wanted to play slap bass and get more funk sound, and this devise is just the ticket. It has great sound, is very easy to use and is very well constructed. You can not use it for all your musck, but if you want a sound from the 70’s, then this Bass Wah is a good start.

I play a Musicman 5 HH, and this thing funks up my sound just fine. It’s quiet, easy to adjust, seems very sturdy and the battery compartment doesn’t require screws – the moveable pedal easily comes off with the use of a 1/4" plug to depress the pin, revealing the battery underneath. I gave this 4 stars because the actual battery connector does not fit my battery of choice , Duracell 9v alkalines. The negative terminal on these batteries is somewhat square and the supplied connector wants a more rounded terminal like Everready 9 volt batteries have.
I would recommend using an external power supply, this thing sucks down batteries at the rate of one every 3 hours of playing. PS200R supplies cost about , so after three gigs the supply has paid for itself. If you need this type of effect, this pedal is a pretty good deal. 0 |
