The description says “Clear sounding metal keys marked in 8 key scale from C to C.” The keys are indeed marked, but they don’t play a scale. Some sound like they’re a proper full- or half-step apart, but more are way off. The F is a only a shade higher than the E, so they sound horribly dissonant. Same for the B and C. And the Cs are not an octave apart. I don’t really understand how the manufacturer could mess this up so badly.

The “toy” is not in tune. I bought some for children to learn music basics but they do not work. At a young age this type of “toy” can actually be harmful to the development of a child’s ear. It is like showing a kid the color “blue” and telling him/her that the name is “red.” Do not buy!

I bought this toy because it was less expensive than most xylophones and my daughter loves instruments and music. It is made from wood and metal but the notes are out of tune. My two-year old daughter loves the size because she can carry it but I find it hard to play a song because the metal planks are for decoration and not tuned like they should be. It feels more like a toy than an instrument.
