Cecilio violas are carefully hand carved. Each viola is meticulously graduated to exact specifications, ensuring a consistency of tone between individual pieces. The CVA-400 model features a hand carved solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides. It has a beautiful inlaid purfling satin finish and flamed back and sides. This is a complete set and comes with natural color rosewood pegs, chinrest, tailpiece and rosewood fingerboard. The rosewood tailpiece has 4 fine nickel plated tuners which is found in very expensive violas. Viola comes with a Brazil wood bow with ebony frogged and unbleached genuine Mongolian horsehair, a lightweight form fitting hard case with pockets and strap, extra set of strings, quality rosin cake and extra bridge. Buy with confidence as it comes with a 1- year warranty against any manufacturer’s defects.

Our daughter chose the Viola as er instrument for Orchestra class. The rental places would charge about per month, which ends up being more than double what we paid for this Viola at Amazon.
I was imporessed when the package arrived because it came in a nice case with a number of accessories. Mind you, I am not a Viola expert, but neither is my daughter – at this stage we want her to explore the instrument and learn the basics. The vola came pre-assembled and ready to play. It included bow, rossin, an extra set of cords – and surprise: a digital tuner/metronome. The tuner is easily worth . It has been a number of weeks any my daughter enjoys her viola. It serves the purpose right. We had to buy a shoulder rest (don’t buy the cheap ones, get a Kun). The case is not designed for heavy duty, but it will hold traveling back and forth to school for the year – I hope. There is a minor cosmetic imperfection in the viola (the inner edge of the hole at the center is not tinted completely) but it is only visible if you pay close attention. At the end, it is a great buy for the money. 0

i bought this viola a year ago and can find no problems. have expanded my playing range from other string instruments and have enjoyed its ease of playing, tonal depth and consitency. just now had to put on new strings and am convinced it still sounds perfect. have played almost 500 hours and rarely need to seriously tune. the consistency make it a pleasure to pick up and play when the time just happens. thanks

this viola does not match the picture at all. it is very high gloss, 12 in., and very amber in color. i still looks excuisite but i’m not quite sure what i’ve got here. The f holes are relatively large, but i think thats fine. the rosin is nice, the case is nice….but the bow….ugh. it would have been a very nice bow but it was SEVERLEY curved. it was almost twisted!! after i got a new bow, the viola sounds absolutely amazing. it has such a big wonderful sound, so soulful and deep. i really like it overall, and may complain about the bow and see if i can get a replacement though..
