I ordered according to description, it didn’t fit the power connector on my 1202fx so I had to return and had to pay for shipping which cost me ~ I lost on this deal, plus the shipping costs I payed them to find out it didn’t work.

Well I tried and sure enough it doesnt fit my mixer. I have a XENYX 1202 FX Mixer. Date code 9/10. I spoke to a rep with Behringer and he told me that there were a very large amount of these that were mislabeled and are for the european 1202FX mixers. So, I set up return of this one and orderded one directly from him before I got off the phone. This is indeed a OEM part however it just doesnt work for my mixer as it says so I gave it 3 stars because the price is excellent, Amazon will always make it right and they must be unaware of the label snafu.

Behringer is not so helpful in determining what this product will replace, as they seem to have changed this product and the mixers it powers over the years, further confusing the issue with inaccurate model numbers, labels and diagrams.
I needed a replacement power pack for an older USA market Xenyx 1202FX, whose original power pack states it is a model “Eurorack Power Supply Model MXUL6” which research and Behringer itself will tell you is the same as this product, the PSU6-UL. It is not in my case, although it may be for other models or years. Even the box on this product states it is for the Xenyx 1202FX, the cover picture and diagrams show that it should fit, but for my mixer, the black plastic rectangular pin in the plug is the wrong size. Further clouding the issue is the labeling on the PSU6-UL itself, which states a second power output that does not exist. I disassembled the original and examined its electrical construction, which is the same as this product – a center tapped AC transformer secondary, simple as that. I looked at a UB1202FX, and its power jack has the larger black plastic plug pin and fits this fine. In my mixer, the power jack needs a smaller black plastic pin – so I just filed it down with a flat needle file. Now it fits and works fine. 0 |
