Get Cleaner Sound from Your Amps and Speakers
The Auralex GRAMMA (Gig and Recording, Amp and Monitor, Modulation Attenuator) is an incredibly effective patented device that’s used to float an amp or loudspeaker. The GRAMMA yields nearly total acoustic isolation, resulting in a purity of tone that has to be heard to be believed. When speakers or amps sit directly on the floor, they create structural vibrations that travel back through them. This can cause the output from the speaker to sound muddy and lack definition.

Floating the amp or speaker on the GRAMMA eliminates these vibrations, which helps improve the overall frequency response and clarity of output. The result is tightened response across the board, especially in the lows and low-mids. Once you use the Auralex GRAMMA, you will never put your amp on the floor again.
Auralex GRAMMA Features at a Glance
- Rugged design for studio or live use
- Decouple your amps and speakers from the floor
- Supports most amps, speaker cabinets, subs, and monitors
- Dimensions: 23 x 15 x 2.75 (Inches L x W x H)
Get Amps and Speakers Off the Floor
The GRAMMA amp and speaker isolation riser is fabricated using patented Auralex PlatFoam. PlatFoam is a thicker, denser variation of our industry standard Studiofoam that is very effective at controlling low-frequency vibrations. With this material between your amp and the floor, you can achieve almost total acoustic isolation. This translates into a tighter frequency response across the entire broadband range, and is most noticeable in the low and low mid ranges.

Rugged Design for Studio or Live Use
The GRAMMA platform is covered in rugged Ozite, making it able to stand up to the wear-and-tear associated with touring and regular gigging.

Supports Most Amps, Speaker Cabinets, and Monitors
With dimensions of 23-inches long, 15-inches wide and weight limit of 300 pounds, the GRAMMA is sturdy enough to support most 2×12 and 4×12 amp cabinets. The dimensions are also ideal to isolate dual-15-inch speakers and most wedge monitors.
GRAMMA comes complete with a carrying handle, road-ready carpet, Studiofoam Wedges (underneath) and PlatFoam (underneath).

I purchased this for the subwoofer in our home theater. It’s the same thing as a Subdude, only it’s larger and not as nice looking.
This device has made a noticeable difference in the sound of my BIC America F12. Before I had this, the sub was noticeably boomier and rattled the pictures on the walls in our living room. It shook the floor. While that’s kind of a neat feeling, the sub could be heard and felt throughout our house, meaning it had to be turned way down after bedtime. Once this was added and the sound was re-calibrated, the pictures stopped rattling and you felt the bass more in in your chest. Also, it can be played at much closer to normal levels late at night without waking anyone up. The sound is more focused in the the living room. 0

Purchased the Auralex GRAMMA amp isolation riser in Dec 08 to use with a SVS PB10-NSD subwoofer in an upstairs home theater room which was causing house rumble and plaster pops (over dry wall nail/screws). The GRAMMA worked like a champ, no more house rumble, no additional plaster pops for an inexpensive price. Wife is happier and the sub even sounds clearer! Well made product, defintiely recommend.

I’ve been playing bass for a classic rock cover band through an Ampeg 328. I love my amp. It’s not a 400-watt monster, but it suits my needs since I’m primarily a guitar player. The problem was, it sounded great in my own rooms, but our practice room is in a portable (nothing under the floor) and most stages are elevated platforms. My understanding is the floors were acting like a membrane that absorbed my sweet tone. And volume. It sucked. But no more!
I bought this thing at a local store after reading all the reviews, and because I was offered a 30-day return policy. That 30 days is going to expire and I WILL NOT give up my GRAMMA. I gigged with it the first night I had it and my amp sounded AMAZING. 150 watts through 2×8’s, and I was easily heard among the drums and lead guitars using tube amps. My amp sounded like I’ve wanted to sound since I’ve been playing with this band. It was the first time I realized my amp wasn’t worthless. All the guys in band were blown away at the difference it made. It truly does isolate your amp so it’s only moving air, like the manufacturer intended, and gives you the sound and tone you should have. Seriously, I’m a pretty peaceful guy, but I’ll fight someone who tries to take my GRAMMA. I don’t know if guitars would really benefit because of their higher frequencies, but if any speakers are hard for you to hear the GRAMMA could be a great solution that’ll cost hundreds less then replacing your rig or monitors. I give it a gigging bassist’s two thumbs up. 0 |
