The Soloist series of marimbas are effective solutions for budget conscience musicians and schools who are looking for high quality sound but desire a low cost. Made with Padouk wood bars that are graduated and slightly narrower, this marimba offers the same precise tuning and voicing as the Artist marimba. This quality provides for balanced sound throughout the entire range of the instrument. Being tuned to the sixth overtone allows complete control over all aspects of the marimba’s sound. As far as construction goes, the frame is the patented voyager system which permits effortless adjustment to a wide range of playing heights, and the resonators are welded, not riveted, to offer the utmost strength and safety from mechanical noise. Mallets and a cover are included.

Wow this marimba sounds pretty bad and the wooden bars warp under temperature changes! It moves well but the sound quality is poor and doesn’t resonate well. The bars are less wide than most other marimbas.
